I had a sidewall slice that didn't look to bad but ended up hitting a nasty pothole that caused the tire to flex and rip the rest of the way through. You may want to rotate your spare in now since you only have 5k on the set and keep that one as a permanent spare.

X2 I have one on my MK2s and it has not bee an issue; hardly know its there.

Sounds like perfect justification to me for new, larger tires and wheels! It's a sign from GOD!
