Default Smittybilt SRC on 2012 Rubicon

Bought a Smittybilt bumper for my Rubicon today. Running into an issue where a canister is in the way of new bumper. Has anyone else ran into this? The fix is probably to just recess the area out with a saw and grinder, but figured I would check here first.

Default Vacumm Pump

It's a vacuum pump that has to do with the power steering, I believe. There are some relocation kits out there.

Default Gald to help

Gald I could help.

I'm looking at getting a 12 when I get back in country. I was wanting to go with the SRC front and rear, so I was searching on here for fittment issues. I had already found the vacuum pump issue and then found you post.

Other then the vacuum pump, any issues with the mounting SRC on the your 12?

Well.... This is my first Jeep and my first bumper, so I dont have a lot of Experience. I will say that I got a Winch for basically free, and just wanted a reasonably priced bumper to mount it on. This was in stock, and I bought it.

So....everything so far seems to bolt right up. I only have 2 bolts holding it on, as I immediately ran into the canister issue. I am a little dissapointed in the gaps. See pictures SRC GAP. The Blue tape is where I am thinking of trimming the bumper down to accomodate the stock plastic trim piece. The Idea is to fashion that to fill in the ugly gap.

Trim Soultion one: Trim the bumper back, and then set the stock plastic piece back. each side will hang over the side of bumper , but it should look..."OK" I would them trim around the bumper.

Trim Soultion two: Cut off tabs where my finger is pointing and screw or glue that little piece in places as a filler.

There is no Great solution and I dont own a fab shop to make anything cool.

My suggestion would be to relocate the pump and think about another bumper that you wouldn't have to modify to work on your Jeep. IMO you shouldnt have to start cutting things on a new bumper to make it work for you. Look into some other possible options.
