Default SmittyBuilt SRC Side Armor vs ACE JK Rock Sliders

I'm debating between the two, and last I checked the prices were relatively close in comparison (including shipping costs). Can either be installed without modifications? I hear stories of guys "grinding" parts to make it fit or even bolting in one side and jacking up the back end to get it to go on. I'm just looking for a little insight before I buy.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The ace was so simple to install, just grind off a little bit of the washers , and bolt them up extremely easy!!

i had the smittybilt SRC sliders and i did need to grind down a little bit on the mount. Took 5 mins to grind and like 15 to install, really easy.. Im a small guy and did them by myself with ease
They are OK sliders for protection but i wouldnt hi-lift the jeep using them or drop onto a rock as the center may flex and damage the jeep but i guess that goes for any rock rails using that style and tubing

I've got the smittibilts, they're crap in my opinion, fit like crap and flex a lot. Mabe thats all of them, or just my experience..just sayin. I'd go with something else.

If American made is important, go ACE. Made in Michigan.

Smitybuilt is decent stuff, but the price matches the quality. ACE is comparable to higher end products. And they are super nice guys at ACE.

I agree with what you say about the guys at ACE. My front bumper is ACE and I was leaning towrd the sidesteps, but wanted to get some opinions first. Thanks for the replies!

ACE backs them up with free replacement if you ever break them.

X2 on ACE. No flex at all. Very solid sliders. I have them on my 4 door and they have three body bolt attachments. I wouldn't hesitate to highlift from them.
