So...Are the 2012's worth it?
Back this summer, I got rid of my 2010 Rubicon due to several problems that kept coming up that I really didn't think I should deal with on a $35,000 vehicle (mainly having only 15,000 miles on it and using over 2 qts of oil between oil changes...and oh, chrysler said it was "normal" and wouldn't do anything...) Tranny issue's were another story...Needless to say, I will never again own another 3.8 powered JK...
Been tossing up the idea of getting another JKU rubicon down the road with the newer Pentastar setup...for those of you that have traded your 3.8 JK for the newer 3.6, was it worth it? Im gonna wait to see how the "kinks" of the first few model years pan out, but I did love the offroad performance of my JKU and would possibly consider getting another down the road. If not, I will end up finding a nice LJ rubicon with a 4.0...
Would like to hear some personal feedback on the 2012's...Thanks~

Not a problem with my 3.8 - no oil consumption, plenty of guts, almost 18 mpg - but I understand some do have issues. Since both the 3.8 and 3.6 are built by the same folks, and there's risk and variability, I'd say you still run the risk of having issues with a Chryco product, eitherway. I'm glad I got one of the "good" ones...You might consider just buying a used one, that doesn't have issues?
Depends on what one considers "worth".
The wrangler has to be the cheapest vehicle on the road to build yet folks burn $35K+ without blinking an eye.
My 12 is "worth" $10K more than my 08 in my eyes.
Unfortunately, that $10K more keeps me from beating it like it was a jeep

After 5 years i traded my 2007 rubicon unlimited for the 2012 rubicon unlimited - then new drive train is incredible -
a huge improvement - the 2102 vs the 2007 is a much more refined vehicle on all levels -
