Default Soft top - first impressions

Well, last weekend I switched out the tops on my Jeep. Since I got it last September this was the first time I've had the soft top installed. It was kinda cool and cloudy on the day I did the install, and it was a bit of a struggle to get the top stretched over the back, but workable, even with just one person

So now that I have it on, the first thing I noticed is that it's not nearly as noisy as I had expected it to be. I don't know why I expected it to be noisy, but I really don't notice any difference between driving with the hard top and with the soft top up.

I also noticed that I seem to get move waves with the soft top on, even with the top up

Now it just needs to get a little warmer so I can open the bloody thing up and really make the most of it!

I can attest to this first hand. My TJ soft top was much noisier.

Enjoy the breeze
I expected as much...when I put it on it was so tight I was pretty much hanging off the sails to get them hooked in! Really, noise isn't much of a concern anyway. Weather is the main concern...dammit, it needs to be warmer so I can open it up!

Agreed, both my jeeps still have the doors on and the tops up...I am not used to the colorado winters...this time of year back in alabama (where I am from) it is 70 degrees and the jeeps have the doors and top off permanently

Although Colorado has WAY more better places to wheel....and its much closer to MOAB!

Hopefully the snow will clear enough to hit Patriot/Indy in the TJ next weekend...

Love the softtop!!!.....even here in Alaska....no problems. I drove 2 other Jeeps an 04 Sahara and I think an 06 TJ when looking to buy. The Sahara top about beat us to death on the test drive, and the TJ wasn't much better. No comparison when I drove the JK. Not just the soft top but driveability was SO much nicer as well. Have had the soft top now for 2 Alaskan winters, and have no complaints. I know the hardtops look "cool" too but I doubt I'll ever buy one.

I like the soft top, but on the unlimited 4dr. I just wish it folded better where its supposed to.

Always makes me think that it isn't lying as flat as it should be on the back end. It probably isn't, but I'll figure it out in time.
