I'd really like to see what you come up with. I have both tops, so hard top on all winter, but in the spring and fall when I still have the soft top on, some cold mornings make that rear window a total bitch for a few months.

I really like this idea. I'd be very interested in a finished product.

now that you have to remove all the windows before taking the soft top down anyway, I don't see a good reason we couldn't have plexi type hard windows in a soft top.

I plan on using plexi. Tried to start on this but the top was to unmanageable in the cold weather. Will be starting this in a few weeks. Plan on making the frame out of wood, and paint it to look like plastic. I will post all kinds of pics when finished.

ya, back in the day, the top was one piece. I had a soft top on a CJ that didn't have removable windows at all, so of course they had to be flexible. But now that the official viewpoint is that putting down the top without removing the windows first will damage them, I don't see why the windows need to be flexible anymore.

Some convertible sports cars utilize the same idea. Granted they fold their tops down in a different fashion, but the application has been proven to be a success. Bravo

This sounds awesome. I hate having the top on, but I'd like it better if I could get it the back for loading & unloading junk without having to try and squeeze under the tailgate bar in below freeing temps.
