Default This Soft Top - ThinkMud or anyone...

This was posted by ThinkMud in the Rescue Green Thread. (BTW...It's an awesome looking JK!)

Can someone tell me if this is the stock ST? I only have HT and I'm looking for a ST. Also, any feedback on this top? How is driving with it open like this?

Thanks.

That is stock but the besttop softop has the same thing. I have the stock but I met someone with the besttop st and honestly, its better to spend the extra $$$ and go with the mopar st. the besttop seemed weak compared to mine.

its factory and you can drive with it open, just open the rear window if you plan on going above 40 MPH.

the noise is comparable to driving with the freedom tops removed.

To the absolute best of my knowledge they do, but i have also heard some other people say the Bestop branded (vs. Mopar) tops have some differences, though i have never seen this in person.

From what I understand Bestop makes the tops for Jeep but the bows and hardware are proprietary to Mopar so Bestop can not sell them aftermarket. An aftermarket top by Bestop has to be redesigned and will not have the same hardware as a factory top.

One more question...

Is there an option to have the ST windows tinted? On the picture I posted earlier the windows look clear. I thought I had seen tinted ones before.

Yes, as stated you can by them, but as far as I know there isnt any way to effectively tint them if you have clear ones already. But someone may well trade with you, for some reason people like the clear ones (I dont)
