My 06 Mustang GT has been legit.

The service department here is top quality too as far as the one warranty issue I had.

It's unfortunate to say this though, the only company left that seems to have a high bar set for quality control is toyota.

I hate it as much as anyone else, but mom and dad in their old age both got Toyotas (A rav4 for the mom, and a solara for the old man) and neither of them have had issues. I've owned my jeep for less time than either have owned their toyotas and I've had 2 warranty issues already (throwout bearing and seatbelt assembly)

Really heavy on gas, and the box is not so good for side winds. I almost lost it a couple of times.

Plus,it won;t take a cargo box so I can't carry 2 snowboards, 3 skis and 4 people.

Hey dude, don't worry. Like JKRINGO said, there are many good ones out there. There are lemons in every make/model of vehicle out there.

That's to bad you had to sell it Zee....I can understand with the winds at times...especially those damn Chinook winds you can get in Cowtown/Foothills!

I had no issues with my cargo box (gutter mounted) on the freedom hardtop...going on 2 years no chips, no cracks in the hardtop and it worked out great for my family of 4 (3 sets of skis & a snowboard). Only issue was the wind noise increased a little with the box.

Good luck with your next vehicle!!!

I bought an all wheel drive Volvo S60 in 2006. In the 16 months I owned it, it was in the dealership 12 times. I paid $45,000 for it and it was the worst car I've ever owned as far as reliability/quality. Before being bought by Ford Volvo was famous for making cars that last forever. I took a huge hit when I traded it in on a Lexus 16 months after I bought it. In the 4 years I've had the Lexus it's never had a problem. Not one. Still drives like the day I bought it. Jeep could take lessons in quality and reliability from them.

I owned a Volvo AWD R wagon. Sweet car. Drove great, lots of power, nice inside etc

That said what a POS ... always at the dealer, electrical prob and electrical prob (eg, gas cap switch would stop working at times. I'd pull into the gas station on fumes and not be able to open the gas tank door). Maintenance was VERY expensive (15k service approx $500). Brake pads lasted about 20k miles max. Headlights constantly burned out (replaced 5 headlights in two years). Power windows worked sporadically. I could go on and on. Bottom line"

I will NEVER purchase another volvo .... EVER

Mannnn I'm so afraid of getting a lemonadeeee!

If i buy this wrangler it would be the first American Car i buy. Previously owned a 2000 frontier, 2006 frontier, and a honda fit. No problems at all, 2k frontier has some shaky transmission but it only gets driven like 1,000 miles a year now... 2k6 frontier was phenomenal except for gas consumption. no problems at all. Honda Fit is by far the most economical car i've ever owned. consistant 37MPG, low cost maintenance, non-existent warranty issues.

But i keep hearing horror stories about jeeps and it makes me second guess myself :(

I want to buy a used wrangler 2k7 or 2k8, are there specific things i should look out for as red flags? I know maybe Zee or others who've sold their wranglers can tell me what too look out for, or what their problems where.... I'm going to give my future purchase a physical inspection in likes of jessica alba's physician

Don't get too stressed out about the whole thing. If you do, then the first inevitable rattle you hear will freak you out. You hear the horror stories because the people who have JK's with no problems don't have anything to talk about.

The 2007 model was the first year and, I believe, had the most problems that have since been ironed out.

Get your JK, enjoy the hell out of it and don't bee too worried about a lemon. If you are buy new, then you can have Lemon laws on your side.

I also heard the new JKs do not have lifetime powertrain...

Are the 09s still under the lifetime powertrain or will that be removed too..?
