Default Someone explain this to me......

I just brought my TL back to the dealer (which I bought and never had any service performed by them) for 2 recalls. Since the service was going to take a few hours they gave me a 2009 loaner.
It was a busy day for me so I put over 100 miles and asked if they wanted me to put gas and they said "no"..., and when I went to pick up the car they said that my battery was weak and they put a "new" one under the warranty , which I didn't even know, so they didn't have to.
My TL was washed vacuumed and parked in the front, the car has 39k and the warranty is 4 years 50k which ever comes first.
I guess as a disclaimer I should have said that I didn't start this thread to flame Chrysler's dealers but to get any type of warranty work from my dealer I had to get a Factory rep, had to make multiple trips back and forth, had to argue with these folks, had to come here and ask for support, had my JK parked in what seemed the end of the world and had my keys misplaced twice.
Why is there such a difference in the Service your receive at these two dealers?...why?...both vehicle cost about the same....
Is all the warranty work paid back to the dealer from the manufacturer?...I would think so.
Funny thing is now my wife is looking at the RDX and I'm really considering trading it just for the service and give up all the fun I had with the JK....because the dealers take all the fun of owning a JEEP....

......I like your suggestion but you have not explained why the difference in service.....I feel is like the service department from Chrysler/ Dodge are doing you a favor when you ask for warranty work....why?...and I know we have dealt with this issue in the past and most probably are dealing with the issue now but what makes you want to stay loyal to Chrysler ......

Two points:
  • No two dealers are the same across any company
  • Typically abused vehicles are a consideration
Obviously, you have found one good dealer and one bad dealer. And allot of people's experiences that you hear about here are bad with Chrysler dealerships. I like my dealership for the most part. The service has been great. I don't like some of the policies that Chrysler stuffs down on them, but there's a difference. I actually want to do business there.

We also have to consider that vehicles that are typically abused are going to get more scrutiny. And offroading would be considered abuse. When you take that into consideration it's hard to compare the two experiences.

I have been with Acura since 1986, and I have owned four Jeeps, and several Acura's. That said I am blown away, I know the service we give in our service dept, then I take my Jeep to the Dealer and get the "we will see if it is warranty". At our store (Acura) if you are within your warranty period I would say less than 1% are not covered for some reason. (mainly we used to cover Mag-cloride damage but they said no more, it can discolor chrome if you never wash your car.
The difference from one manufacture to another.
Cleaning our car should always happen at any Acura dealership.

I think it is just your dealer and the a**holes you are dealing with..
I have had a handfull of issues and have always had great service and treatment.
Hell one time I saw cat prints on the hood, told them, they said come back in two hours, I came back and they had buffed and waxed the entire jeep.

Then again I have had vehicles from other dealers that were completely obtuse in the way they dealt with customer service
