Default Something stinks!

After parking my Jeep in a parking garage in NYC I noticed a really bad smell. My first thought was that Seinfeld episode. I drove home with the windows down and the smell did not go away. I decided to search the Jeep and I found the source. My 2 year old dropped his milk bottle and it rolled under the backseat...it's been there for 2 weeks. Some how it leaked into the carpet.

I've tried carpet cleaners, febreze, baking soda, dryer clothes, nothing has worked. I'm ready to trash the carpet. Does anyone have any suggestions recommendations? I’m desperate and winter is coming, I can’t keep driving with my windows down.

Thanks!

The milk is not only in the carpet but it is also under it. You will need to pull your carpet and clean the floor under it.

I discovered that. Luckly the JK's carpet isn't to hard to pull back.

Just store the carpet in your house for awhile until you get used to the smell.

I would pull the carpet out...not that hard really, and then hit it with some strong cleaners. Then use a garden hose and blast it till you think its clean and blast it again. Probably do the under side as well then vacuum and let dry.

Just pull the carpet and put in the rubber floors like I did! They are great for mud . spills or any thing..

Once you get the carpet clean get a can of Ozium to get rid of any lingering odors.

Question

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but has anybody ever noticed a smell sort of like a locker room (stale socks, etc) when you haven't driven the JK for a day or two?
