Default spinning tires in the snow

how bad is it to have ur back tires spin in the snow or on ice? because where i am at most of the roads are ice and it hard to get traction so they spin a lot when they start out, is that really bad? or is there anything i should watch out for

Normal spinning, with a reduction of throttle to regain some traction, won't hurt anything. Excessive spinning can actually melt some rubber off.

The traction control doesn't kick in? The brake-lock -differential, and possibly the traction control, should apply brakes to minimize the spin.

Maybe you should be in 4wd if it's too slippery.

That's not good. The Wrangler's 4WD is a part time system. You're headed for some serious issues.

In order for it to be "not a part time system", it would need to have a differential or viscous coupling in the t-case. No Wranglers have either one.

We have what is classified as part time 4wd.
