What are the advantages of both? Likes and dislikes? I generally run 35's and I know larger tires can be harder on an auto.

I have only had standards but im considering starting fresh with a brand new jeep, so...

 

I love my 6sp. I'm a driver at heart... love driving. I think I drive too hard for automatics and always seem to screw them up. I like control over the speed, downshifting, power, etc. with downshifting, your brakes also last longer.

The only time I'd like an automatic would be if I was stopped at a sketchy incline, like say on hell's gate or something and wanted to have my foot on the gas and brake at the same time without worrying about a clutch. I have yet to find myself in a situation where I wished I had an auto.

or I guess towing might be consideration. I think you can tow more weight with an auto?

Manual all the way. I get board with an auto. Plus if u plan on building her up u will wish u had a manual.

Standard, all day. The only reason to get an auto in my mind is 'cause you don't know how to drive standard.
Standard: performance, control, mpg, fun factor
Auto: you can do your makeup while you drive
