Which Step Should I get?
Hi all,
Just got a 2010 Wrangler X today. I like to add side steps but don't know if I need to have the dealer do it or I can do it myself. I would try if there is no drilling or welding. So can you point to me what are good side steps and let me know if I can install them without drilling or welding? Thanks

Even if you don't plan on doing much off roading now I would just get the rails for when you do. Off roading is like crack. Once you have your first hit you just want it more and more.

Steps are a problem because if you get on the rocks you'll bang them up. That's why so many Sahara owners pull them and install real rock rails. However, if you know you won't be doing rocks (or are willing to unbolt the steps or just live with them banged up), then check in the For Sale section here on JK-Forum. Like I said: Plenty of Sahara owners are getting rid of them.

If you don't plan on trail riding just go with some used factory side steps off a Sahara or X as stated above. They are inexpensive, easy to install, and do the best job of protecting the sides of your jk from road chips and such.
