stiff 4wd lever is it normal?

Default stiff 4wd lever is it normal?

i find that the 4wd shifter lever has allwaise been stif i have a rubicon 2008 with 23k ? is it normal and is their a special maintenance routine?

I have an 08 X and mine is stiff as heck. I just make sure I am rollin about 1-2 mph and it shifts. Never had any issues, just suspected it was designed like that.

Yeah, mine is stiff too. When my salesman was showing me how everything worked, he told me to give the 4wd lever "a good tug" to engage it.

As long as you rub it the right way your "4 wd lever" should always be stiff.

Can't believe I beat Toad to this.

I don't know if this makes any difference whatsoever, but I usually just move the lever to the right a little bit and it shifts down very easily. No hard tug at all and I never feel like I'm going to break the damn thing. It's only a little snug shifting from 2wd to 4Hi and then the rest I barely exert any effort at all. Fun stuff

these things have 2wd? I've never moved the lever that far forward..

Keep in mind that was going from 2wd to 4 Hi. I know 4 Lo has its own procedure.
