Default Stock with 265/70 R17 Duratracs and AEV Pintlers - no rub, no overhang?

I just bought a JKU Sport and want to swap out the stock 16" wheels and tires...keeping stock, with no spacers, no lift

I've read great reviews about Duratracs.

With the 265/70 R17 Duratracs, they're 31.6" tall and 10.4" wide. The Pintlers have 4.7" backspacing.

Can I do this setup without any rubbing or sticking out past the fenders?

I have 265/70/R17 Duratracs on stock wheels (6.25" backspacing, I think).

Here's a picture that should help you figure it out. I think with less backspacing, they might stick out past the flares just a little bit.

They will be approximately 1.5" further out than stock, it may stick out a little, but not too bad.

itasor, with the stock wheels, do you have wheels spacers or any issues with rubbing?

Hi

I looked first at Duratrac as a Wintertire but sadly it aint allowed as a wintertire in Sweden according to Goodyear in Sweden.

I do not want a lift or spacers and the tire can not stick out side the fenders according to swedish laws and I do hope it doesnt in size 265/70 17?

So I ordered 265/70 17 Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX that is legal as wintertire in Sweden.I ordered the dubbed version. I have no clue which i better Duratrac or S/T Maxx. I think that Duratrac is 2 ply, S/T MAXX is a 3 ply tire.

On this military vehicle they use S/T MAXX

While they aren't duratracs, I've been running 265/17's for a while on stock wheels (so have many, many other members). No problems that tire is roughly 1/2" shorter than stock, but 1/2" wider than stock. With aftermarket wheels, you'll have no problem.

Hi

Some say that Duratrac is smaller than the size they give and S/T MAXX is larger???

According to specs, the 265/70 17 is not so high as the 255/75 17, but I think that a tire with more aggresive threads could be bigger.

Found this on the internet
To the left SR-A 255/75R17s to the right Duratrac 265/70R17s, the Duratrac is higher but have a smaller size on hight.

We have this thread, they also find that 265/70 17 is higher than the 255/75R17s

Thanks for your help.

I'm ordering a set of 265/70/17 Duratracs and a set of stock Mineral Gray Moabs from the COD/Mountain special editions. PA inspection limits around tires not extending past the fenders have me too concerned to try other wheel/tire combinations.
