I notice that everyone uses the same basic style of winch for this bumper mod. Everyone seems to run a smittybilt style winch. From what I can tell a mounting plate is mounted on top of the frame rails and the winch is mounted upside down. (Please forgive me as I dont know the names of the style of winches.) I have an XD9000i winch. Could I not mount a winch mounting plate on bottom of frame rails and have the winch recessed? I love the stock bumper mod, but I dont like the look of the winch mounted on top of the bumeper. I would want the fairlead coming out of the front of the bumper like the rest you ballers have. Would this work?
