Default Sunrider Rattle - Finally Solved

For the past couple of months, I have been really annoyed with a rattle that I get when I have my 4 door's Sunrider top back. It was the same kind of knock that you would get if you had your door misaligned. So first, I aligned the door striker, no luck. Then I tried electrical tape on the door surround where the lower peg goes into the tub, no luck...

Finally, I noticed that the frame of the Sunrider top was rubbing and bouncing against the top of the door surround where they have a small piece that looks like it's only purpose is to provide a place for the hardware to rest. I got some double sided tape with some cloth on the top side and finally fixed the issue. It was driving me nuts and now I'm much happier. The funny thing is that my wife is so used to my older Jeeps, she said that it's a Jeep, it's supposed to rattle! My work is done today so I'm heading out to the beach now

Good call.. I posted this solution some months back... it was driving me nuts too. I used the "soft" side of a piece of velcro stuck to the door surround post.

...still dreaming of the Spring....

Glad to see I wasn't the only one with the issue. The soft side of velcro sounds like a good solution. I'm not sure how long the double sided tape will hold up so I need something a little more durable.

As far as the beach comment, sorry about that! Down here, we have to enjoy what we have since our trails are flat, sandy and smell like swamp! No hills, rocks or real mud to speak of.
