suspension difference between models ??
so is there actualy any difference in the suspension between the X, Sahara, and Rubi ?? I think that the jeep site said that the rubi had some different suspension but did'nt get into what's actualy different. so dose anyone know ??
if you look at all the lift kits that are out there for the JK's there is no mention of diff kits for the diff models, the only thing I have seen is 2 or 4 door....
I'm asking this because in another thread here there is mention of the rubi being a harsher ride than the others.

I believe the only JK suspension differnces that would make a ride harsher are the low-pressure gas-charged shock absorbers—std on 16-inch wheel packages (X) vs Monotube high-pressure gas-charged shock absorbers—std on 17- and 18-inch wheel packages. (Sahara, Rubicon). The Rubicon also rides on LT (light truck) vs P (passenger) tires, which will have a stiffer sidewall. Also consider the 4 door unlimited will have differnt spring rates than the 2 door to accomidate the extra weight.
Electronic Sway Bar Disconnect, Front Dana 44 Axle, 4:1 Rockcrawling Transfer Case, Electronic Front and Rear Lockers and BFG Mud Tires are the difference in price that the Sahara doesn't have.

Here's the bottom line:
The Dana 44 front axle is standard with the 6-spd manual transmisssion on the Sahara. The 4.10 is also available as an inexpensive option on the Sahara.
The front Tru-Lok is available as an option on the Sahara, but since you cannot get the rear Tru-Loc on the Sahara, you can instead get the Trac-Loc limited-slip rear diff as an option on the Sahara. Conversely, you cannot get a limited-slip rear diff on the Rubicon.
If you want the rear locker instead of the Trac-Loc for the rear, the sway bar disconnect, and the Rock-Track NV241 transfer case, you have to get a Rubicon.
