Yes, you have to take the console out to get to that clip.

It looks like everything has to come out all the way. Dang. It almost seems like my Jeep has had his nuts cut off with not having 4wd. Gotta get this fixed

Thanks yall....seems as though both underneath and the one inside my console was broke. Ran up to Orielly and for $2.00 I got everything repaired. Appreciate the help!

Why would they use a cheap plastic clip on such a critical part?
