Anybody ever see a tailgate adaptor/ different gate all around, that folds down instead of swinging out? I know I'm kind of a nut, but I like a tailgate you can sit on and have thought about a fold down tailgate on a JK.
The spare would have to be on a swing out mounted on the bumper, but it shouldn't be hard to do, anyway, just a thought

 

Jeep SWAG used to have a kit for it. Great idea but (my opinion) poorly executed because of the framework of the JK. You can see if it's still available online.

 

Looks like they might, I didn't see one for a JK, but they had several.
Their design I'd definitely an add on look, they may have gotten their hinges from home depot, probably best to leave it how it is

 

Poison spyder also used to sell one but it replaced the gate with new metal. You can see if that better fits your needs.
