taking off hardtop
You can use your factory mirrors by buying a Mopar or Rugged Ridge mirror relocation kit - this allows you to mount the factory mirrors on the body frame of your JK and not on the doors.
Sorry for all the questions I have heated power mirrors will they still fit with relocation? If not is there an alternative cheap mirror set I can buy from autozone or pepboys etc?
Do a search on this forum for harley mirrors. It will give you all the info you need without everyone having to repost the same info. They slip into the existing door mounts on the body. YMMV on the effectiveness of the small mirrors, but you are legal.
Removing the hardtop is cake. Torx and a socket extension, IMO. You do need 2 people to prevent scratching or accidental tipping when removing the main portion. My wife helped me a few times. It's light, but it is awkward.
Keep a tarp, ratchet tie downs, and bungies in the Jk. It will serves as a temp rain cover if parked in the rain.
