Default Theft

I couldn't find a thread about theft.
How easy is a JK to steel?
Have many people lost their beloved JEEP?

Any suggestions on a way to make a quick anti-theft thingy?

Thanks

Haven't gotten mine stolen... knock on wood... but I live in a town of Lexus's and Mercedes. Those are more likely targets for the pro carjackers.

So it sounds like it is not to hard to steal
but no one is stealing them?

Why I am asking is that the reason I have a jk is my truck was stolen
at a airport hotel in Montreal and I am going back there and will be
leaving the jeep for a few days. I like the jeep and dont want to lose
it.

Thanks for the replys.
Any more input?

I would suggest parking somewhere else, or getting a ride there instead.

Isnt there secured parking there somewhere that you could use? I had a couple break ins to my old truck/company car a thte Buffalo airport area hotels, I started leaving it in the secured lot at thirport. cost more, but never had an issue after i started doing that.

a determined thief will get it no matter what you do, deny them the opportunity. I haavent heard much about whole jeeps going missing, but local dealers have lost the doors & spare tires by the dozens.

Montreal is the hottest spot for vehicle theft in Canada.
Fortunately, I don't live in Montreal, but I have to park my Jeep there sometime, and I'm really nervous.
I heard that many insurance Companies refuse JK's if you live in Montreal.
There is nothing you can do... because they use a towing

What?!? Seriously, who told you that? Montreal's like maybe a distant sixth place for auto theft in Canada.

Manitoba (Winnipeg, specifically) had the highest level of vehicle theft in Canada for well over 10 years. Recently, Saskatchewan (Regina) took the dubious honor from us in 2008, and that's only because immobilizers were recently made a mandatory requirement on all vehicles to get insurance in Manitoba.

Canadian JK's have an immobilizer as standard equipment, not sure about US ones. The 2007 immobilizer didn't qualify though and has to be replaced with an aftermarket one.
