Tire Spray
My tires are 4.75" of BS and stick out a little past the fender. Since I installed the lift a couple weeks ago, I've noticed that I get a lot more spray up onto the body from the tires. Not a bad thing, but I'm worried about kicking up too many rocks and chipping the paint. Am I worried about nothing and just suck it up and deal? Are there any preventative messures to take?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I just upgraded rims and tires as well. I got 4.5" BS rim and 33.12.5R17 Cooper STT's. They do stick out from the stock fender about 1/2 to 3/4". I will be getting a mild 2" lift here in 2 weeks and this may cause some issues with flicking up rocks.
I do have the Sahara Side steps and they seem to protect from any rocks kicking up which is great. However, I have added the 3M clear bra tape to my rear fender flares to protect the painted flares alittle more. I may think about putting some on the lower's below the door as you can rip off and replace really easily.
If it gets really bad....I will buck up the cash and get a set of wider Bushwacker Fender flares.

The worst thing is not so much the side of the Jeep, but your elbow when you're riding with your arm on the window sill. I spend a good 80% of my driving time on dirt roads and have been dinged a few times. I'm running 33" BFG KM2's with Shorworcks sliders -no protection from anything coming up from the ground. I picked up a set of those old school flexible Jeep mud flaps and when I get hit with a big enough rock I'm gonna sit down and come up with a good way to mount them.
