TJ vs. JK
This morning, I went to a local Jeep accessory shop and met a gentleman who owns a 2005 TJ. We ended up talking for a while about our jeeps, he was surprised to know that I sold my 2003 TJ for my '08 JK. He said that I should have kept my 03 Sahara instead. Personally, I love both the TJ and JK, but it seems like there are a few Jeep enthusiasts out there who do not like the JK. Why is that?

Watch when the (Im guessing Here, usualy every 10 Years a new Jeep comes out.) 2017 Wrangler comes out, there will be a bunch of people saying the JK is soo much better.

Typical Jeep community.
Now, I think the animosity towards the JK is in regards to the engine. The TJ crowd loves the 4.0L inline six. As a former TJ owner, I really have to admit that it is a decent engine for the Jeep. Plenty of low end torque, and bullet proof reliable. The TJ owners don't like the 3.8L V6 as much, even though it has slightly higher peak power numbers, because those peaks are higher in the RPM range compared to the 4.0L's.

They said the same thing about the TJ when it first came out also, Apparently the old jeep enthusiasts didn't like the coil Springs and thought that the leaf spring Jeeps were better, and Before that it Was real Jeeps have round headlights not Square ones.

I would say my new 07' Unlimited is a better Jeep.
Finally this weekend I got to really test it out down at Wellsville Ohio. This thing did great! I was very impressed. I would not say it blows my old 04' Unlimited away, I just feel it is better. Both my Unlimiteds were auto's, both were 6 cly. both had 32" BFG. This thing just seemed to climb with better power and control. The extra length did get me in trouble once, but it was short lived.........slight tug from my buddies 92' Explorer and away we went. Getting stuck was a bone head move on my part backing up in to the unknown. Just my .02 cents
Buy the way, thier were a few TJ and YJ owners that were very happy to see a 4 dr playing on the rocks.

As others have said, TJ owners are either jealous or ignorant. In reality, the JK is smoother, quieter, more comfortable, more convenient, gets better gas mileage, and (most importantly) is more capabe off-road. What's not to like?
We have a 97' Cherokee Sport, an 06' TJ Sport, and an 08' JK.
In some ways I still think the old Cherokee is a rockin indestructable beast like no other.
I don't know if I would call the difference in opinion jealousy. I think they all have their good points and bad points. The TJ works for me, my husband loves the JK.
