Default Took a nice swim!!!

In my jeep that is, I was @ wally world and it was nice when I went in, I was standing in line waiting to pay and I heard a loud roaring sound, I looked out the front door and it was pouring like old testement type of stuff. I bolted out front and by the time I reached the jeep there was already standing water in the floor. I only live about a 1/2 mile away and figured by the time I got the top up I could be in my garage. That was an interesting 1/2 mile, my windshield wipers didn't work because they only work on the outside of the windshield , I also recieved several WTF type stares, I just smiled and rolled on. By the time I got home there was about 1" of standing water in the floor and I looked like I had just went swimming. I stripped out all the carpet and hung it in the garage and it is dripping as I type, I checked my rain guage and we got 3/4" in about 10 minutes. Moral of the story, don't go to wally world with your top down.

i did the same thing... went out to my jeep the other week...and it was already pouring...

i then had to drive home 30 minutes with no top and no doors.

i could hardly see. and had to wear a hat to keep the rain out of my eyes!

fun minus the clean up / taking out the carpet.

It's happened to me twice this week. It happened Monday night... I left for golf and it was beautiful but by the 2nd hole the Biblical rains poured down. Within 20 minutes the sun was out, until I started driving home. I caught up to the rain and drove the rest of the way home in the rain.

Then tonight, I was at my monthly Jeep meeting and it started pouring at the end of the meeting. So, I high-tailed it home. Fortunately tonight I didn't get too wet...

Glad I have the carpets out... just have to pull the plugs.

Giving my standard warning if you got water in the steering column wait for a bit the horn switch will short out. Mine did HOURS after the water. It was 4:00am. The rest of the jeep is fairly waterproof as long as you pull all the plugs it will dry fine but they needed to do a better job with the electronics.

BTW cruise went out for a bit too.

I got caught out a couple weeks ago. I had rain gear, which I threw on because I was in the middle of hooking up a canoe trailer (loaded with seven canoes). Safari top was on, but no doors. As I was driving home, pouring rain, towing a trailer with seven canoes, yeah, there might have been a few looks. LOL.

Took about two days to dry out everything, mostly because the tow strap and tree saver in the storage cubby got soaked.
