Top storage
I'd like opinions on top storage, soft and hard.
What is the best way to store the soft top when it is removed from the Jeep? Is it best to leave it folded up and just stored in a safe place? Even for long periods of time? Can leaving it folded up for months at a time do any damage?
What about in winter? I am wary about leaving it in my unheated garage over the winter as my CJ top developed new cracks every winter.
Any thoughts or opinions on soft top and window storage for extended periods of time?
I have a nice safe spot in the garage for the hard top and a bunch of moving pads. Is it best to store it right side up or upside down?

In 10 years running a boatyard, I never had a customer's top crack over the winter when we stored it for them. I'd say take it off and fold it off frame on a warm day, wrapping with old towels in a small enough bundle that it wont have to flex too much when you move it. If you need to install it when it's still cold, do it in a heated garage, or wait till a sunny day. The cracks don't come from storage, they come from movement in the cold.
(Normally, I'd say roll it around towels for the best result but I don't think that will work with the side tabs.)
