Unhappy Torx screw is stuck

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum. I have been reading your threads whenever I have encountered a problem and found this forum to be very useful. I have a problem I need some help on.

I am removing my soft top for the winter. I am on my last Torx screw and it will not budge. Weird thing is - it was coming and about 1/3 of the way it just stopped. I also cannot screw it back in - it will not move. I am nervous about stripping it. Has this happened to any of you? Do you know any tricks?
Thanks!!

Where is the torx that you're removing? I've had them hang at the end of the soft top bows, just get a screwdriver and pry under the head, they'll come out.

The screw is the last one holding the bracket to the roll bar. It's not at the end. The screw is still roughly half way in the thread.

you can try taking the torx bit and hold it tight to the screw and tap on the bit with a hammer. squirt some pbblaster on the threads but use something to catch the drips.

I know the manual says to remove those brackets but I thought most folks just left them in place through the season, unless you're selling it with all hardware included.

I'd agree with the PB Blaster and you might try using an impact driver lightly in and out to see if it will get moving.

I'm like Karl....soft top brackets stay on the rollbar year round. No reason to remove them unless you're selling the soft top.
