whoch mountains? Type of grade and for what distance? This is all very relevant. And, what is your set up? Lift and oversize tires? Stock, gearing? Aftermarket coolers?

I have a 2001 17' hybrid trailer that my wrangler pulls without a problem. I recently installed a trailer brake kit with brake controller which put less force on the Jeep's brakes. Also extension mirrors are a must! Here's a photo of the setup:
