Here is my situation, I would like to either trade or sell my Jeep.

Please suggest what one I should do....

I have a 2010 Black Jk unlimited Sport (auto)

11,013 miles

-2 1/2 inch Old Man Emu lift
-325/65/18 Duratrac Tires (8k on them)
-XD Monster Wheels 18 inch
-Superchip
-Cold Air Intake
-KC Slim lites
-XHD Front bumper with Standard end caps and the hoop
-5.13 gears
-Infinity Stereo
-Smittybuilt Rock Rails

Reason for this is to POSSIBLY get the 2012 and start a whole new jeep project

Again what do u think I should go with trade or private and how much do u think I could sell it for if private?

I would definitely sell it to a private party but to the cost of it not really sure...

See how much the dealer will give you as a trade in as that amount will have no sales tax. example $20,000 at 6% tax would be $1,200 so you would have to sell privately for $21,200. Some times it pays to trade in on newer vehicles.

True but most of the time dealers won't give you a fair price for it but it is practically new so its a little tougher to tell what they will give you but it dosent hurt to ask

I took my 2009 Ram around to different dealers asking if they were interested in buying it. Trade in value was $18K - $23K. I turned down $21K from Dodge and went to Chevy and they gave me $23 which was what I wanted. No trade just sold. Second vehicle I've done this way.

Since you already have a nice mint Jeep, I would sell private.

Trading would be instant gratification, but throwing cash for mods away.

Private and list it on Ebay, that's what I'm going to do with mine.

Take it back to stock (and hold on to your mods for your 2012) and then trade it in. I tried to sell mine outright before I bought the 2012 and got very few hits. The dealer gave me more than my highest private-party offer.
Another tip... clean the sh!t out of your current rig before you take it in for a trade-in eval. And by clean I mean everywhere the eye can see.
