Just wondering what people on here were getting on their trade ins. my dad is toying with the ideal of trading in his jeep 08 sahara 4dr 6spd with 8,000 miles on. I just wanna make sure they dont try ripping off my dad.

If he goes to a dealer, he'll get ripped off. Dealers use "black book" trade in value, which is nothing like NADA blue book. He needs to sell it to an individual.

Go to Edmunds.com. They have excellent pricing information for used vehicles based on your zip code.

You need to know that "used car" price and "trade in" price are two entirely different animals.

As others have said, I would be careful trading that one in, being as new and low miles, you could probably sell it to someone and get a better deal. My biggest problem would be dealing with the buyer, can they qualify, are they ok to deal with, etc. The dealer might give a good deal though, might be close enough that it makes sense to do due to the hassle of selling it yourself.

You can look for com parables being sold and see where you stack up. I did a quick search on carmax and found this 2008 Sahara 4 door, 4wd, no navigation, automatic for $27,147.
