Default Travel trailers

I'm putting this here because my jeep is modified and I figured the guys that frequent this forum might have some insight.

I'm a 2 door on 35s with 3 inchs of lift and I sport a hard top and its a rubicon so I'm 410 geared 6 speed manual they say our max tow is 2000 pounds and I'm looking at a travel trailor that weighs 1850 lbs with out any gear in it. I live in the appalachian mountains so its a lot of up and down. Do you guys think I can handle that type of trailer safley with my son in the back without burning up my transmission?

You should be fine power wise, especially having a manual, but from a safety perspective I'd be concerned, especially given you are already lifted.

What kind of trailer is it? Is it a pop up or a standard box like trailer? The lower the profile the better you will be, but even at that it may be a case of the tail wagging the dog.

Nope, I would not even consider that much load on a 2dr down any highway at any speed to speak of. Another note if you are to try it I would confirm the RV weight on a certified scale, RV mfgs are the worse at quoting the correct weight.

If you want to use the Jeep to tow it back in the woods from the main road then not a issue as the Jeep will PULL it but not TOW it,,if that makes sense. My 2 cents

I think I'm going to get a rack and a roof top tent. Then all my problems solved.

I pull a pop up with mine, family of 4,though the ozarks, and I just take it slow, but no slower than a big motorhome pulling a Jeep...lol.I`m an auto,3" lift ,34s,3.73 gears, and hardtop.I`ve put a tranny cooler on and keep it out of overdrive.
