Mine could be balanced. Long story short. Took to a shop that wouldn't follow the directions on how to balance them properly. They put the one that they installed on the spare, it was only slightly out. I left, went to 4-wheel parts where they installed the 4 and I didn't bother with the spare. I have had more problems with brand new tires, 2 BF Goodrich tires replaced for being unable to balance, and had 4 Goodyear tires go bad on my wife's car.
The company is great to deal with. I had one that got scuffed/cut in shipping. They replaced no questions asked. I've also had a club member that had one not balance and they replaced. I'm just to lazy and only will be running these till spring then 35s!!! Yes you run more of a risk balancing but the company ha outstanding support.
I don't doubt the company being outstanding, it just sounds like something that shouldn't be. To me its just to risky.
Got mine installed today and had ZERO problems getting them balanced. The guys at Discount Tire didnt even notice they were retreads, kept asking me which BF Goodrich tires they were. The tires dont have the low hum like Rubicon tires, instead they have a whine. Which is noticeable but then again I could be use to the low hum of the Rubicon tires.
