Trektop NX vs Factory Soft Top (JKU)
I have a question for those who have owned a Trektop NX and the factory soft top for their JKU. Which one were you more satisfied with and why? I have the Trektop NX and have been wondering if I should have gotten the regular top.

I think the biggest thing is the extra coverable storage space. The only reason I liked the Trektop was for the tight sealing bikini top. After dealing with the tight fit I actually traded my Trektop for a second soft top so that I could get the tinted windows, and make one into a Sunrider Bikini. Same no leak bikini top but no tight fitting sides or back curtain. And, It folds all the way back for the no top feel.
I love the NX for the look, ease of topless and no large mess sitting on my tailgate when I'm topless... I really don't miss the extra space I lost but that would be the only down side(loss of rear storage). Mine leaks about the same as my oem one but I just have to redo some of the weatherstripping at the corners. Love the NX!!!
I sold my OEM soft top for the NX, why? It looks badass, I don't have anymore leaks dripping onto my front seats, and the sunrider simply flips back. I also love rolling around with it in safari mode; get that open feeling without the sun beating down on the kids in the back.
I hate the rear quarter pieces of the oem top. I prefer the bikini top mode most of the time. It is cooler without the sun blaring down. The nx is really easy to get to the bikini top and has no rear quarter panels to flap around. Yes you lose some storage but i got my wife and 2 kids in cae seats to FL in it. We stuufed it and used a hitch baskrt for the beach.toys and chairs. I dont think i could go back to the oem top at this point
I traded my oem top for the nx. For me the only reason I'd ever have the windows in is if its raining. I like the bikini/sunrider combo the nx gives you. I can deal with the lessened cargo space for a few months out of the year until the hard top goes back on.
