ups
The one place I used to work we got a new UPS driver. He had a bad back so if the box was heavy he kept a old tire in the back on his truck. He would push the package out of the back onto the tire.
Then slide onto the dolly and wheel it inside. Most of our stuff didn't hurt it. Until one day he did that with a $20,000 box on ceramic Bushings....
They were usually sent freight we had them over night UPS since it was a Rush order...... We never same him after that.
I wonder why...

Hey now easy fellas I used to work at ups all your wheels and tires should come together by ups freight (overnight express)(ups bought them out) if your shipper would take the time to package them all together and call ups and tell them they have a freight pick up for them would proubly even save some money in shipping cost if they were regular ups coustomers and speed up delivery times. As far as damaged pkgs go there is no reason for that pkg handeling is a major concern for the company because when your pkg is damaged that comes out of ups's pocket not the company you bought it from. It is pretty hard to keep pkgs looking new when they bounce in the back of semi trailes all the way across the u.s or world for that matter.
