Default Used JK pricing

I've been thinking about picking up a Rubi Unlimited. The deals on new vehicles are outrageous, but I would be happy with a used ride, and I would appreciate the money saved (could go toward mods).

I've been searching the usual suspects for local vehicles (craigslist, cars.com, etc.). I am finding that almost all the used vehicles I find are priced above what I can walk into a dealer and pay today, plus at the dealer I can get zero percent financing. I don't want to be rude to the sellers, but I would think used rigs (with, say, at least several thousand miles + and some of the factory warranty burned up) should sell at about a 20% discount (at least) to what pricing is available from the dealer.

That's not at all what I'm finding. I know current owners must be very angry that their vehicle has depreciated so damn much, but I would also think sellers would be checking current new vehicle pricing as a benchmark.

Thoughts?

I guess too many people are upside down and think they can get what they owe plus some extra.

Reality is hard on people
