Default Utility Trailer?

I'm thinking of buying a utility trailer and was wonder if a 8 foot by 5 would be to long for a two door wrangler?

No I dont think so but I will tell you this, I do pull a camper and a trailer and a trailer without the big tall gate on it and the one without the gate has way less drag then the one with. If you can get one without a tall gate it would help.Hope this helps?

The gate (short or tall) acts as a parachute. Less gate (lift up ramp) means less drag.

An 8' x 5' trailer would be perfect. I have an 8' x 4' utility trailer that I use all the time. My Jeep does a great job towing it. If I have a decent load on it, I turn O/D off to make the hills easier.

I use a Reese adjustable ball mount. I think I have it at 5.5" drop. I know a lot of utility trailers have an even lower tongue than mine. I think the adjustable Reese can go down to 7.5" drop.

This is a full size refrigerator on my trailer:

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I have a 6' x 4' with 2' walls. I find it suits my needs quite well. Here's a pic from a cleenup run we did in November (people use some of our wheeling spots as garbage dumps )

I have a 5 x 7 utility trailer, no problems, had the tongue extended so that the tail gate on the jeep can still open. well balanced and tows well.
