Venting.
Just thought I would vent. Not a big deal but here it goes. I purchased Trucklite LED headlights on ebay the other day. I thought I got a good price which was $285 + shipping. I thought to myself this would be the highest I would pay for headlights like these so I was very happy to come across such a find like this. A few days later I get an email from ebay requesting a cancelation of the transaction, I knew it would be too god to be true. The seller stated that the item became damaged while packaging. Does this sound correct. I thought these headlights are indestructible. I guess I am asking for some advise on what I should do if anything. I purchased the harness so that these lights would be compatible with my JK. I don't want to be prick and I really don't have much leverage, the seller already issued a refund to my CC via paypal. I just keep thinking if the shoe was on the other foot how I would be getting raked over the coals. I guess I am venting and eventually will cave. Thanks for listening. Please forgive my bad grammer I am typing this on my blackberry.
That sucks, but I'd be happy they were up front and issued the refund.
It's too bad some of the other ebay sellers aren't as honest. Whether you're getting the truth or not isn't so much as a big deal as to the fact that your paying for something that is damaged.
Maybe, ask how much damage is done and get it for less? 285 is a great price for a working set. A damaged set still has somewhat of a value too. IF it can be repaired.

They probably didn't get what they were hoping for and made up the excuse. I have gotten good deals on E-bay, only to get some lame excuse for a refund. Look for the item to reappear later on.
Smoking deal if it would have came thru. But You still came out ahead,.. I've had some bad luck with EBay before and try to order from big company's with reputations now.... I too like blackberries on gram crackers!
It's pretty common for shady sellers on eBay to have an item listed in multiple locations and pull the eBay auction (or claim damage, etc) if they get a better sales price somewhere else.
I've also seen many cases where sellers just claim damage or some other goofy excuse as a way to run a reserve auction.
"Only sold for $236?!?!. . . . OOOppps can't believe I dropped it while packing it for the buyer.... bummer"
That's why I typically only buy from sellers with 100% or 99.9% ratings. Of course since eBay changed the rating system I shoot for 100% unless it's a low ticket item.

That really bites. I have had a couple of issues on E-bay, and recently I bid on a new Warn 9.5ti and when I won the bid I was ecstatic. Then I got to worrying if there was some gimmick, but the winch arrived in the box new, and I have it installed at a savings of around $400.00. I guess the old axiom of "buyer beware" holds true sometimes, but that does not help you.

Thank you everybody for sharing your experiences. I happen to be an honest person who believes in what comes around goes around. I will give the guy the benefit of the doubt. If he is telling me the truth well that's great, if he is lying well he's not getting any of my money. I just thought I would break his chops a little bit. Don't want to lay over and die without a little dialogue to the seller! Once again I really don't have much levrerage so he wins and I lose. O-well thanks for listening to me bitch and moan. The only problem now is despite the reviews I really want these headlights now! Lol
