very close to pulling the trigger
... on buying the '12 JKU of course
just a few noob ?'s first
i might grab a Sport with S package that they have in stock rather than ordering one so i need some opinions.
is LSD worth it? i will mostly be DDing with the car and need to know if i need the lsd or is traction control enough? are after market lockers a good alternative if i decide not to get LSD? doesnt the rubi only have lockers?
will the 3.73 support 35" tires with a 4"lift with the occasional tow of roughly 2k-2.5k lbs?
thanks!

If you are using this as a daily driver....why do you need 35's?
As for the vehicle itself...good choice.
Yes, get the LSD on the Sport S. It is an "OK" LSD, but it is at least covered buy the factory.
BTW, 4.10's would be better suited for the 35's, and more importantly, so would the Dana 44's up front...that is the key.

it will be dd with the occasional off roading but mostly beach fishing, and flat terrain off roading. so if i were to choose between a 44 front and a regearing, choose the 44 front? looking at regearing charts form previous 3.8 jk's, i notice that 6mt were able to go further without regearing. thats why i ask if ill be safe with the 6mt..

I'm looking forward to 5.13's in anticipation of the eventual 37's.

you might have talked me into the rubi so its your fault im going to be broke! im jk but its only about at 4k jump and thats much less than ill be spending to replace front axle, lockers, lsd, gearing... plus i can tolerate keeping the rubi stock longer than i would with a sport. how are the tires in wet weather/ snow? and if i get the tow hitch and harness aftermarket, is it completely plug and play with the sway damping thing that they come with?

Go drive them and see which you like. The new gear ratios in both the auto and manual for 2012 make the old charts obsolete so don't use them to pick gears. There have been several people put 35s on both the 4.10 & 3.73 and have said it still drives fine in the 2012.
