Default WARN repair

the lever in my XD9000i is stuck in the ENGAGED position...is there a way I can just DIY this repair? This winch has never been used in "anger". so

hmm I have a warn xd9000i and mine doesnt goto free spool. I discovered it last saturday, I also had never used it before.

I thougt WARN was the ultimate reliable winch and all others should be so worthy. You get what you pay for ... blah blah blah

Sorry couldn't resist.

My understanding is Warn is pretty good about helping out with premature failure issues on their winch products. Give them a call before you dive in because the answer may be "no easy fix, you need this part" anyway. Some guys with power plant winches had early failures and got parts shipped free from Warn.

did you roll it up too tight...? mine didnt want to release the first few times, because it had too much tension on the cable.

I was able to unspool mine using the control, but it still doesnt goto free spool, I'll be calling warn.

yeah yeah it still works well my bumper just doesnt like being pulled to much haha. I gotta call bestop damnit.

the Pure Jeep bumper held awsome though

I'd be very pissed off if i paid $700 for a winch bumper, and it was bending while whinching. I say you give them hell, and make them send you a new IMPROVED bumper.
