Default Washing the mud off

I'm tired of pumping quarters into the car wash every time I go wheelin or ATVing. So, I want to buy a pressure washer. I would be willing to spend up to $1,000 if need be but I have no idea what to get. Any suggestions?

Here are some to choose from: hxxp://www.pressurewashersdirect.com/grade/professional.php

Get something around 2500 psi. This will be good for many jobs around the house or garage ,and make sure to get a Honda engine on it. You can get the perfect machine at Home Depot for about $500 or maybe less.

I bought a cheapo for under 100 bucks from my local ace hardware and it does fine in getting the gunk off in summer. Now though I cant use it as it is too cold in Michigan.

I bought a pressure washer to do the house and it workes well for "sticky mud"...just be carefull when washing any decals as they will peel off as if you were sandblasting....

I got an electric version (Lowes) that works well. Not as powerful as the big boys but they can be too much for cleaning the JK. You need to be careful which tip you use or it will peel more than a sticker off!

I checked in the garage for my powerwasher: Husky 1800 psi
This won't clean concrete like some of the higher powered washers but it works well for general house and Jeep clean up!

Hi! I bought the electric version as well, mounted it in my basement with hot / cold temperature balancer plumbed in and just run the high pressure hose out through a hole with a "trap door" on it when I need to hose off the JK. Simply unplug the hose, coil it up and return it to the basement when done. All totaled about $500.00 (add up the two visits to the carwash each week to get rid of the winter salt, etc, and it gets cheap real fast!) Take care... Mike

"Back in the day" when I lived up there I connected the garden hose to the home water heater, which needed to be purged now and then anyway, and enjoyed cleaning stuff. Don't last long, does it.
