Default Water Getting into Jeep

So I have a 2008 JKU Rubi and I have my interior line'xd. Whenever I go into water past my doors water comes in even through the plugs. I checked countless times to make sure the plugs were all the way down and that I had all of them in but still the water is coming in!!

My solutions: A) Im thinking the bedliner is causing the plugs to not have a tight seal so I am going to sand around the plugs and see if that helps.

B) Mabye its the pressure from the water pushing up on the plugs causing them to pop up slightly allowing water to flow in? so I am going to try and put the plugs in from the bottom of the car so that if there is water pressure the ridge of the plug will push up against the bottom of the car causing nothing to leak in.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any other solutions?

I would have to agree with the liner preventing the plug from sealing. That stuff is a pain to sand. You might try a Dremel type to make the job easier.

I would just remove the plug, thoroughly clean to remove dirt on tub and plug then RTV back in place. You can still pull plug out if needed.

Ya I understand that but by the time I finish wheeling and finally get the chance to let all the water out of my car, the stagnant water and mud that had been sitting in my car all day is not a pleasant smell, especially during the three hour drive home.

Same thing happend with my brothers Jeep. the liner was preventing the plug from sealing correctly, he sanded around it, then shot it with some black paint so it wouldnt show, and was fine then after.

Which car has drain plugs? :crazy eyes:

As a last resort you can always try sealing the plugs with some kind of silicon caulk, but you'll lose the ability to easily pull them should you get water in the jeep.

Most cars have drain plugs, I know for a fact that a 2010 Toyota Camry has them, cause I own 1.
