Default The Wave

Hi All

Any other 4 door Jeepers hav'n a hard time getting the return wave? I have driven a YJ for years and am starting to notice a bit of a snub. I know it will take some getting use to but man come on it's just a couple of doors ( and stuff ) Anyone else finding this? Starting to feel like I'm driving a Compass...... Not that ther's anything wrong with that.

Well, i have to admit, i have gotten allot more waves now that the 35"s and 3" inch are on! Before that, not as many. I think they thought it was an H3 before that. ;-) just kidding, we don't need to start this topic again...

I had a hard time getting waves... I think there is just a delayed reaction to what they are seeing. I am waving and they are just pretty much looking through me.. anybody else getting the long stare as they drive by?

I don't have a JK.... yet, but I have found that men tend to wave more often than women. (I am a woman.) I don't know why! I got my new jeep this past summer, and then they came out with the JK. Hubby says I have to wait a little bit before I trade 'er in. Ah well - least they'll get the bugs worked out.

I seem to notice the younger they are, the more likely they are to wave. But I do get a lot of blank stares from people, particularly the ones not in a Jeep.

Yeah I'd have to say people are just trying to fully understand the fact that they are seeing 4doors and/or a brand new JK. Most people can't multi-task that much (drive, STARE, and wave). Who knows if they are even paying attention to where they are driving.

All of the sudden BAMM a JK, and they are sitting there looking like instead of

I get a lot of looks/stares...not so many waves. I have had several people want to talk to me about my 4 Door Sahara in parking lots and at red-lights too. Most of them say the very thing that made me buy one: "I always wanted a Jeep but it just wasn't big enough for what I needed."

In Montreal only a few people wave. The rest are pricks. Contrary to popular belief, the Jeep population is not quite so friendly, present company excluded (well, some of the present company).

The wave is alive an well in MA, more with my TJ. If you just see it coming quickly, it could be mistake for a gasp liberty. But I have only seen 1-2 other unlimiteds to date...It should improve once everyone gets them. Ciao! Ted

I still get "the wave" in my 2dr JK, but so far everytime its been from a YJ or CJ...the majority of the TJ's (no offense to owners) kinda snubbed me. Or I get the "my TJ is better than your JK" look. Although...I live in Huntsville, AL and if any of ya'll know about the people in this area its kind of understandable for people to be jerks...but still, it kinda makes me sad  i ALWAYS got "the wave" in my CJ7...
