hey I know this sounds crazy but how do you get the white residue left on the fenders when you get some car wax on it?

When I used to work at a car detailing company, we used to use soapy water and a tooth brush to remove residue wax on plastic parts. (flares, bumpers etc..) the toothbrush works great on textured plastics. good luck

Use wax blaster, you search for it on http://www.autogeek.net/wax-remover.html

or the easiest solution...use a wax that does not leave a white residue. I use Zaino.

I use turtle wax ice. they claim you can wax plastic trim and it won't turn white. I did not wax My fenders but I'm sure I got some on them and no white. I thought about waxing them to see if it sheds mud better but I wonder how long it would stay on the plastic.

Be careful if you have a soft-top... wax will eventually destroy it.

I too use Zaino and don't have this problem. However, Mr. Clean magic erasers will do the job.

I have had good luck with Turtle Wax ICE as well. It is not as fancy as Zaino or any of the other designer waxes but I have been using it on my cars since it came out and it goes on so easy and lasts long enough for me.
