Wet
After five days of beautiful weather with the top and doors off for most of it, I knew a storm was coming in tonight. After I got home, I came inside and put my son to bed, then started watching a movie. Halway through I remembered to go put the top up...and it was raining. Evidently had been for a while. So I pulled my wifes car out of the garage and pulled mine in.
I had about an 3/4" of water on the floorboards. So I got to pull some carpet out and test out the drain plugs. Some of the carpet could not be pulled out easily, so if it wasn't too wet (under the folded soft top and rear seat), I left it in, but propped towels under the edges that were wet. Six wet towels later, and my innards are (hopefully) dry enough to go to work tomorrow morning.
After it stops raining, I will set out the carpets to dry, and put the top back down to dry the remaining carpets. This is my first Jeep with carpet. Is there anything else anyone would like to recommend? I would realllllllllly like to avoid a moldy situation. Thanks!

Must of been a good movie. I'm more worried about the seats getting that wet if I ever get caught in a downpour. Do you have seat covers on yours, how did they hold up? I'm guessing leaving the carpet out until it's dry would be the only thing you could do. Is there anything made for auto or home carpeting that we can put on our Jeep carpet to keep them in good shape?
If they're anything like my YJ's it was just fine. I did get some smell occasionally, but nothing pulling all the carpet out and cleaning with a high pressure hose and scrub brushes didn't fix.
Heck my YJ was parked out front with just a Bikini top for years!
I figured if the carpet got bad enough I would just order a new carpet kit from Quarda for $200 or something like that.

Seats prety mucy dry quick because of the fabric type being mostly waterproof. The carpet will take about a week to dry because of the backing. I am seriously considering taking it out on a permanent basis and if I could afford to Rhino Line (or some other stuff) I would because if the paint under the carpet is as crappy as is on the rest of the jeep it will get scratched up and start rusting quickly. Don't forget if you store anything in the storage compartment and the plug is in it fills with water very quickly.
