Default What breaks

Wondered if you guys could help me know what usually breaks on the JK. I just want to be prepared... the best I can anyways.

Well....

axle shafts if wheeled hard. (replace with Alloy shafts)
front driveshaft (if auto and lifted 4"+)

Other than that, replace it as you break it.

The more you do as far as lift and tire size the more you stress things beyond the factory design envelope. If you leave it stock and do mild wheeling you may never break anything. I asked a gentleman who has had a lot of JK's on guided trips what he'd seen break and he said nothing. The most troublesome thing he had seen was Rubi discos not working.

If you are going to lift it and go to 35's or 37's I think you need aftermarket driveshafts, front and rear CM axle shafts, the font axle C's gussetted and apropriate skids underneath. Regearing goes without saying.

but seriously, the drive shaft is the first to go if you lift your 3" or more, thats the only thing i broke, and it happened once. After that i changed it with a heavy duty one from tomwoods

The plastic clips that hold on the front fender flares. Don't sneeze.

oh ya i forgot about those, damn their annoying, i cant wait for my BOLT ON fenders

Ball Joints, Tie Rod, Steering gear, Torque converter, axle leak, tranny leak, diff leak, leaky top, that answer your question?
