I'm a disabled vet, the army gave the 1941 willy's a designated code. And from there soldiers were calling the CJ a civilian jeep when AMC brought out the CJ , it caught on with the public and it stuck, from then on, people have been giving the acronyms, CJ , TJ, YJ, MJ, DJ, their own names

Does anyone know the true pronunciation of the Willys Jeep? Just curious.
Is it Willis or Willie's? My uncle owned a 1950's. Willys pickup, I always reminded him to sell it me if he ever wanted to get rid of it. I never got it, he passed and I never found out what happened to the truck. Sad. |
