Default What do we need?

So after the whole basement builders craft fair thingy, i've been thinking, what are some ideas of what we need for our JKs, there are tons of crafty, talented individuals here on the forum that can come up with great ways to solve problems. So how bout everyone post up here what they would like to see built for the JK. whatever it be, taller lifts, bolt in one ton axles, or just some different accessories that we would love to have, but currently nobody makes. this way by the time the next basement builders craft fair comes around there can be more things available.

Ok i'll start, how bout an inexpensive oil pan skid that can protect against some moderate wacks of the rocks and keep the oil in the pan and off the trail. I think i have an idea for that already.

A very basic steel front bumper, similar to the stock bumper on the YJs, with fog light holes. Seems like someone with a good source for the right size C-Channel steel could make these pretty easily. I don't need anything fancy, but I need to get rid of the plastic crap. I love the steel one on the YJs, they are just too small to fit neatly on the JK.

I agree, a simple C-Channel bumper with holes for the factory fogs would be easy enough for a home do it yourselfer to offer to the forum. anyone else got any ideas?

I was thinking of something a little cleaner looking. The fog holes aren't actually circular, there are a bunch of random unneeded holes drilled in it, the bent ends don't look all that great, and the metal seems a little on the thin/flimsy side. I actually tossed around this idea, but it just seemed like 5 1/2" tall C-channel with a few round holes would look a lot better.

Thinking about building a few more like the one I made for my JK. Pics are in my sig.

Fog light holes would be easy if you delete the winch option or put it on top.

Any interest?

And yes, Maroonjeep's bumper is badass! I'm not sure if I've seen 1BADJK'S or not. I'll have to look for a pic.

soft doors like on a M998 HMMWV, so I can take them off, and keep them in the back.

I'd like a good, solid, interior hi-lift mount. I found some real nice brackets that bolt to the roll bar in the rear where the soft top goes. For those of us without steel bumpers and who would rather not keep it out in the elements.

Only two problems, if you have a soft top it may not work. If you get in an accident, the bolts *may* shear off.

I'm going to try and fab up some brackets that mount to this location but with a steel bar connecting the two brackets. With this the jack is support across the entire width and shouldn't move in the case of an accident. Going out of town this weekend so probably can't work on it until after xmas.

I don't know if you have ever been on a skateboard but the grip tape would add traction and provide some protection. plus its cheep.
