Default What Does "Sending Report to Dealer" Mean?

I am like totally in the dark here! I ordered my '08 JK Rubi on June 11th, 2007. I started calling Chrysler on July 30th, and everytime I call, they tell me it's still in BG status! OMG!!!!! WTF!!!!!

I've already resigned myself to the fact, based on posts I've read on this list, that I probably won't get my baby till Christmas!

Anywho, my last call to Chrysler was 2 days ago, August 30th. The girl asked me for my dealer name and put me on hold for a few minutes. When she came back, she told me that she was sending a report to my dealership, but she couldn't tell WHY or what the purpose of the report was. Of course, it's Saturday evening, and not a peep from my dealership yet! WTF??????

To top it off, the dealership just deposited the check a few days ago I gave them on June 11th, when I ordered my '08 Rubi.

My son, who hangs out on the Jeep.com forum, read some posts from Jeep technicians the last couple of days, letting people know there's a delay in the production of the new hard tops for '08's! Apparently, Chrysler can't keep up with the demand! Anyone else hear this and believe it?

What's this report Chrysler sends to the dealership? Like it's gonna make Chrysler move MY JK in the front of the production line! NOT!!!!!! I don't think so!!!!

Any thoughts?

i think they send the dealer a complaint. they did this the first time i called DC, since then i start off the conversation with, "i dont have a complaint, i just want to check the status of my order."

right after i hung up the phone on the first time calling, i got a call from the dealer trying to explain what was going on and telling me when they got updated, i would get updated.

since you ordered a rubi, you may be in for a long wait. what other options did you get?

Unbelieveable...a complaint??? That's the last thing on my mind! When I do call Chrysler, the first words out of my mouth are always "Hello, I'm calling to check the status of an order"...I will definitely add "I'm not calling to complain" next time I call, which won't be for another 2 or 3 weeks! I'm so tired of hearing 'BG Status' already, with no other explanation. Besides, their computer systems are only updated maybe once every two to four weeks! Believe that?

Not sure what you mean by other options I was given! No one has told me anything except what I wrote above!

Nothing you say or do will speed up your order. I called twice a week for 4.5 months...then I bought one off a lot.

I figured I shouldn't be the only one who was pissed, so I pestered the sh$t out of them

i was just wondering what options you had ordered... mygig? hard top?

rubis are slow to produce, add on certain options and it almost moves backwards.

They've only been building 2008 JK's for 6 weeks. You've ordered a model (Rubicon Unlimited) that has been taking an average of 6 Months to build. You've got a long time to wait. If you're that impatient, go find one on a lot and buy it.

There's is absolutely nothing the Chrysler Customer Service rep can do to speed up your order. Their job is to handle customer complaints. When you call to check the build status, they believe you're complaining about how long it has taken. So, they apologize to you, then forward that complaint on to your dealer. Complaining about it taking 6 weeks or 6 months won't get you a JK any faster.

Because of Rubicon-specific parts supplier delays, they can still only build less than 30 Rubi's a day. That's why it takes as long as it does.

Everytime you call DC, they report it to the dealer, then put you back to the end of the order line, and raise the price $100

seriously tho', call the dealer instead....they can bring it right up on their network.
