I'm wondering what it takes to void your Jeep warranty?

Like will putting a lift kit on, bigger tires, and new wheels void your Jeep warranty? What about a custom air intake, or something like that?

When I asked my salesman that same question today he said that the bottom line is that DC has to prove that the moification caused the failure that you are seeking warrenty for. Not sure if this is correct or not???

yea that is correct. but the biggest deal is finding a dealership that don't want to be a total PITA about modified rigs....the dealership I got my JK from said my jeep was coverd up to a 6" lift and 40" tires...now if they actualy stand behind that or not well ????

basicly it comes down to the dealership one other thing you may want to do if your installing a CAI or anything else that is a "quick" bolt on job is keep the stock part arround if your motor starts to have problems just put your stock air box back on and they won't know the diff so they will have nothing to try and "hide" behind...

While I was checking out a thread that talked about security devices for vehicles I was led to a link of one that I found quite intresting. In the anti theft device web site, I came across this page which I found to be most informative in regards to the subject that you folks are talking about.
Which happens to be "aftermarket equipment"

The bottom line is the denying party has to prove you have voided the warranty.

Here's a web page I've created that discusses this and provides links to 2 sources of this question:

Ah ok thanks for the help guys. I guess worse case scenario I can always take out a lift kit, go back to stock, and go to another dealership right?

As long as the invoice shows they were there when one buys the Jeep, then there should be no problems later!

Does anybody know if an aftermarket air intake system will void the warranty. Looking to buy one to add some horse power and maybe better gas mileage.
