Default What does tread lightly do?

Just spent some time checking out the web site. I still don't know how it can help me with a jeep purchase?

3 year membership will get you an affiliate reqard (AR) code which will get you friends and family (FFP) pricing at participating dealers. Many dealers will give you this price (or better) anyway, so it's kind of an insurance measure to get the best price.

FFP pricing is right on the invoice. Just ask to see the invoice!

Is the invoice price the same as the base price on the sticker of the jeep?

No. The price on the sticker is MSRP. Invoice is less than that.

Tread Lightly is a great organization, but if you want a good deal, just keep your eyes open.

When I got my 2011 4 months ago, I searched every dealer near me. Then I saw an ad online that showed discounts totaling $3000 off. I went to the dealers near me to see if they'd beat it with no luck, they just don't discount these things.

Then I went to the one with the online ad. The salesman said it was a military discount, Jeep/Chrysler loyalty discount and some other stupid discount. He offered me $500 off cuz I didn't qualify for any of the "discounts."

I told him no deal. I pointed out that the ad said nothing about the different discounts you "may" be eligible for. All it said was $3000 discount.

I got a 2011 Deep Cherry Unlimited that was listed for $32,000 for $29,000.

The sticker shows a base price and MSRP. I was wondering if that base price was close to the invoice price since its usually a lot lower than MSRP.

Base price is MSRP without any options or destination charges. MSRP = base + options + destination charge. You can find invoice on several websites (including the first post of 2012 Jeep Wrangler thread oj this site, or the USAA or Geico car buying sites).
